Since 1985, we've taught incarcerated women how to make better decisions!

Over many years, the dedication of more than 1,100 volunteers has created new  opportunities for over 1,400 incarcerated women at the Tennessee Prison for Women.  By choosing to participate in our 20-hour structured program, these women learn life skills that are designed to help them gain more control over their lives and to help break the intergenerational cycle of crime.  After attending both a classroom session and a 1-on-1 mentoring session each week for 8 weeks, they graduate from Better Decisions with new skills and with hope for a brighter future for themselves and their children.

As a volunteer-driven organization that attracts women who seek a personal and meaningful volunteer experience, Better Decisions brings together women from varied backgrounds and provides them with a unique opportunity to learn from each other.

The next volunteer training will be Sept. 8-9, 2012 in Nashville.

hope that you'll explore our website and learn more about this

rewarding program, now in its 28th year.
